A Doula's Guidance
Sarah McAdams
Hi, I’m Sarah! For as long as I can remember, I’ve been drawn to supporting people through the transformative journey of birth. In high school, I volunteered in a labor and delivery unit and quickly discovered the deep honor of caring for laboring women. That experience sparked a lifelong passion and led me to pursue both nursing and birth work.
I grew up in the beautiful mountains of South Lake Tahoe, California, where I developed a love for nature that still grounds me today. When I’m not supporting families, you can often find me gardening, hiking, or playing with my standard poodle, Spencer. Some of my most treasured memories come from supporting my sister as she became a mother and welcoming my niece into the world—moments that continue to guide and inspire my work.

My Experience
In 2022, I became a certified birth doula through the International Doula Institute, and I immediately fell in love with this calling. Being invited into the sacred space of labor and birth is something I hold with great respect. I bring patience, empathy, and a grounded presence to each birth, believing in listening deeply, honoring every family’s unique path, and supporting informed, empowered choices. I am also trained in CPR and first aid, so you can feel confident in the care I provide.
For me, being a doula is more than a role—it’s who I am. I feel truly blessed to walk alongside families of all backgrounds, experiences, and beliefs as they welcome new life.
"I am so glad that I had Sarah’s support at the birth of my baby! She had the most amazing bedside manner from the moment she arrived in the room till the moment she left, with kind words of encouragement and reassurance. Thanks to her I was able to have a wonderful unmedicated birth experience!"
